Building on the Scapes series these paintings have taken a turn for the abstract. My concerns are the same, an engagement with nature intersecting the built environment, but these works have become more involved with  exploring the nature of paint and how the way I work with paint relates to the picture.

The enjoyment of the process has transformed from careful application of paint and exploration of light and freshness, in the previous series, to spontaneous decision making and allowing the brush and what paint can do lead me on.
